Following the weather situation at 40% of the annual monsoon rain average described in the previous e-news in Gaya District, by September vast expanses of land showed failed crops. However in the second half of the month very heavy showers occurred almost daily up to the first part of October thus re-establishing the balance of the rain output in the region. The fortunate farmers who could avail themselves of water pumps and could therefore keep their crops going throughout the drought period rejoiced that their crops were safe.
