In the last month of the year we succeeded in reaching and even exceeding the target of 1,000 blankets that we distributed to selected poorer people identified by our field workers in the entire district in addition to our direct patients from the leprosy, TB, and mother care programs. The total number of blankets is 1,120 inclusive of those given to children from our Fulchatar school along with warm underwear. It is to be noted that all the people who came from around the district were given also a contribution to their transportation expenses. The entire exercise was generously funded by our recurrent German donour, the Buddhistische Akademie, whose contribution was greatly appreciated particularly during the cold wave that swept through all of North India in mid-January.
