This quarter has witnessed the transition from monsoon to winter seasonwith some showers up to mid October followed by the dry spell of the cold season. Such change in the weather has facilitated the arrival of international pilgrims who seem particularly struck by the plight of local dogs and find their way to MAITRI to request shelter for the wounded or disabled animals. One such rescue involved a lactating mother and her 7 puppies! Thus, in the past 3 months our canine population has reached the respectable number of 76!
